Anthony Gismondi on Wine

ABC.net.au is reporting the South Australian Government has announced changes to wine labelling rules.

Consumer Affairs Minister Jennifer Rankine says the new labelling system will allow producers to use the same label for both local and international markets. South Australia is the first Australian state to implement the rules under the World Wine Trade Group Agreement. The move is expected to save the wine industry almost $13 million a year. (There's no word whether the new labels will actually abandon the gigantic and almost meaningless moniker "South Australia" to better help consumers come to know more specifically where their wine comes from. Ed.)
