Anthony Gismondi on Wine

I love fall.

Not only is it harvest season - a glorious time to be in the vineyard - but it's the first release of reds, often lighter ones, like pinot noir and gamay, perfectly suited to wild mushrooms and autumn squash. I've just updated Anthony's Perfectly Pinot piece from a couple of weeks ago to reflect the latest batch of earthy, silken, forest-scented pinot noirs to cross our tasting bench. Speaking of harvest, Anthony is up again to the Okanagan Valley this week to report live from 2016 harvest, and I've just returned from ten days in Portugal and experiencing the harvest in the Douro Valley. In last weekend's Vancouver Sun Salut section, Anthony has outlined where you too can experience harvest first hand in BC, or at least, drink the rewards from our vintners' labour.
