July 19, 2005. Foster's Wine Estates, the world's leading premium wine business, today announced that Scott Oliver will lead the company in Canada. Foster's Wine Estates Americas, formed July 1, 2005, combines the portfolios of the former Beringer Blass Wine Estates and Southcorp Wines with leading brands such as Beringer, Lindemans, Stags' Leap, Meridian, Rosemount Estate, Penfolds, Wolf Blass and Chateau St Jean.
Scott Oliver has been named Vice President and General Manager for Foster's Wine Estates, Canada. Scott was formerly Vice President and GM for Beringer Blass Wine Estates in Canada and has led the business through a tremendous period of growth over the last five years. Scott will report to Bruce Herman, SVP Sales for Foster's Wine Estates Americas. Brent Smith, formerly Vice President and GM, Canada for Southcorp will be leaving the business.
Foster's Wine Estates is also pleased to announce two other senior appointments in Canada. Daphne Christie, formerly Vice President, East, for Southcorp has been named Zone Vice President, East for the new Foster's Wine Estates Canada. Daphne has been with Southcorp for six years. Shauna Hansen, formerly Vice President, West for Southcorp has been named Zone Vice President, West for Foster's Wine Estates Canada. Shauna has also been with Southcorp for six years.
The route to market strategy in Canada is still under review by the executive team of Foster's Wine Estates Americas and will be announced at a later date. Until further notice, Foster's Wine Estates Canada will continue with the current route to market strategy, that is operating two separate sales and marketing entities incorporating the expertise of our existing agent network and the dedication of our Foster's Wine Estates Canada-based team.
Foster's Wine Estates Canada now has an unparalleled portfolio of Australian and Californian wines including the number one Australian red wine in Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet and number one white wine with Lindemans Bin 65 Chardonnay.
