Trialto Wine Group Ltd is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Scholefield to the position of Vice-President Strategy and Liquid Art Portfolio, effective March 15th, 2010.
 
Recognized as one of Canada's pre-eminent wine professionals, Mr. Scholefield was the Senior Portfolio Manager for the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch for nearly two decades.  Since 2004 he has run a busy consultancy, advising the BC wine industry and developing strategic wine programs for restaurant groups. 
 
Highly regarded globally for his discriminating palate, encyclopedic wine knowledge, and deep understanding of the business of wine, Mr. Scholefield frequently appears as wine judge and speaker at major wine events world-wide.  Trialto President Rob Bevis said "David is a rare visionary in the wine world. We plan to deploy his unique perspective, rich experience and far-reaching relationships to develop dynamic portfolio strategies in response to ever-changing market conditions."  Mr. Scholefield will be responsible for supplier relations as well as overseeing Liquid Art Fine Wines Ltd., a division of Trialto Wine Group Ltd.
 
Founded in 1989 Liquid Art specializes in the world's rarest and most collectible wines.  Liquid Art founder John Thomasson states "I cannot think of a better person to take over Liquid Art and carry it forward and manage its evolution in the new reality for prestige wines.  We are elated to have him aboard."
