Italian Wine Scholar Unit 1, Northern Italy at Victoria and Vancouver, Two Cities, Same Dates.

As with French Wine Scholar, this is an advanced program of study on a par with the detail required for the WSET Diploma for Italy and beyond what is covered in WSET level 3. Due to the depth and complexity of Italian wines, the program has been split into two courses: Unit 1 and Unit 2. Following the successful launch of the program last year, we are excited to offer Unit 1, covering the North of Italy again. (N.B. the two units are discrete and there is no need to take unit 1 before unit 2.)

Course runs: 6 weeks, every 2nd Tuesday, with a gap for Christmas

Classes: 24th Oct, Nov 7th & 21st, Dec 5th &19th

Exam: 9th January; Time: 6 – 9 pm

Course Prerequisites: No pre-requisite required but WSET Level 3 Award recommended.

Textbooks: Manual provided

Material and Supplies: 6 ISO tasting glasses (not provided)

Student Evaluation: 100 question multiple choice paper. A score of 75% or higher is required to pass. Students must pass both units before gaining the “IWS” credential.

French Wine Scholar - Vancouver

When it comes to wine culture, France is the historic benchmark. Developed and administrated by the Wine Scholar Guild with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, this specialization program is designed for advanced students of wine, whether professionals or serious wine hobbyists. The French Wine Scholar Program covers French wine law, grape varieties, viticulture, winemaking and all of the French wine regions including Jura, Savoie and Corsica. This core body of knowledge is important whether you sell wine, buy wine or teach about wine.

Course runs: 10 weeks, Mondays: November 6, 20, 27, December 4, 11, 18, January 8, 15, 22, 29 (exam)

Time: 6 – 9 pm
