Calling All Artists

Interested in a unique opportunity to showcase your artistic abilities as an artist and wine enthusiast? Calona Vineyards' Artist Series wines, featuring art by Canadian artists, is once again putting out a call for art to artists attracted to the idea of seeing their art grace a wine label.

The internationally award-winning Calona Artist Series of wines is seeking unique works of art for upcoming vintages. Entries are now being accepted until November 30, 2003 and will be judged by an expert panel from the arts community. Interested artists are asked to submit their art for review before the due date.

Winning artists will have the unique opportunity to have their work shown on new Artist Series wines being distributed throughout Canada. In addition, the artist will receive a $500 honorarium and a name credit on the label.

Submission Details:

The art must reflect the flavour of the wine. Art of wine, grapes or vineyards will not be considered. Calona Vineyards will be selecting art for three wines:

· Pinot Gris - a vibrant white wine with apple aromas that

carry a hint of spice

· Cabernet-Merlot - a full-bodied red, deeply coloured wine

with black cherry fruit aromas

· Chardonnay - a refreshing white wine with ripe apple & pear

flavours and a crisp finish

Submissions should be either a painting or electronic media (photography will not be accepted). Consideration must be made as to how well the art will reduce down to label size (2.00" x 2.94", 2.75" x 1.83", 2.37" X 2.37" or 2.66" x 2.16") as this is extremely important in the selection process. Submissions should fit one of these sizes or it may be cropped to fit specifications.
