Australian Wine Appreciation Society

The AWAS held its first tasting in 1983 making the 2003 season its 20th anniversary. The Society boasts over 200 members who regularly attend tastings organized from September to June. A tasting or wine dinner is held each month and the club also helps to organize the annual January Australia Day Wine Fair. Annual fees are $45.00 per year and that gives members priority seating at monthly tastings especially at regular sellouts such as the Wine & Cheese, or the season-ending Barbie. The Society currently cellars over 800 wines and uses membership fees to replenish wines tasted throughout the year. For more info link to www.awasvancouver.com
