Vin de Pays d'Oc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis is a rinse-and-repeat label, and given the reliability of Picpoul de Pinet, it is no wonder it has become one of France's most reliable seafood whites, which begs the question: why isn't it more widely available in BC. Picpoul is often compared to Muscadet or Albariño because of its freshness and drinkability, but it is a bit less serious and much more fun on a sunny patio. Expect a touch of colour, plenty of citrus, and a hint of green herbs and light pear from grapes grown on limestone soils by the Mediterranean. Picpoul first arose in southern France before Louis XIV.
