Falernia Gran Reserva Syrah 2021
Valle del Elqui, ChileThis wine has overdelivered for years, and the 2021 vintage may be the best I've tasted yet. There's still the lush, ripe fruit, clocking in at 14.5 abv, but it feels like there's more savoury depth now, with bacon marmalade, black olive, and white pepper. There's something decidedly Rhône-ish to this wine, while showing why Elqui continues to be so exciting for syrah.
