Valle del Elqui, ChileExpect a unique style of carmenere, shaped by the super-cooled Pacific winds that fill the Elqui Valley, and the drying of 60% of the fruit using the appassimento method to intensify its aromas and flavours. It has a floral, spicy, smoky, black fruit, and tar nose. It follows onto the palate with herbaceous black fruit, dusted with pepper, and oaky vanilla notes. It's unsettled for now but shows promise, especially for the price.
