Sempre Mio Chardonnay 2024
Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThis boutique Beamsville-based label is a new project from Corey Mio and his wife Lena. Off their Lincoln Lakeshore estate vineyard, this chardonnay blends clones 1067, hyde FPS 112, Corton-Charlemagne 48, and 1086. All was co-fermented with native yeast, whole cluster pressed in French oak barriques and puncheon (30% new) where it rested 19 months with occasional bâtonnage. Lemon curd, white peach, nectarine, and fragrant white blossoms fill this generous white, with a stony underlay to tighten, and subtle sandalwood spicing to season.
