Phantom Creek Estates Chardonnay 2025

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI was happy with 2020, and five years later, 2025 seems to confirm my confidence in its evolution. The fruit from the historic Becker Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench was first developed in 1977 as part of the pioneering Becker Project that explored the stability of vitis vinifera growing in the South Okanagan. While most of the property eventually went red, a small amount of chardonnay is made exclusively for the wine club. The style has evolved as it heads down a tighter, more linear path that I describe as California meets cool climate. Fermentation is indigenous, with ample lees contact and ten months in oak barriques and casks. Look for a bright mix of stone fruits and almonds with a touch of honeysuckle on the finish. Delicious drinking now and should hold through 2034.Tasted: 20 August 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
