Mission Hill Terroir Collection Cabernet Franc 2023
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe '23 Terroir Collection cabernet franc comes from the Black Sage Bench this year, and it hasn't lost a step. The climate-stressed season brought a difficult winter, warm spring, hot summer, and mild autumn, resulting in a smaller, earlier harvest. In this case, you get a concentrated New World nose of baking spice and dark fruit, with a subtle herbal undertone. The winery suggests it portrays acai berry on the palate, which translates to anything from blueberry and blackberry to black cherry skin and tart pomegranate, with a slightly earthy, cocoa-like, or bitter edge. The key point is that it is fun to drink. Technically, it is fermented in small concrete fermenters (clearly the difference between most of the competition) and aged in French oak barriques for 16 months.Tasted: 20 August 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:| BC | $65.00 | 750ml | member exclusive |
