Le Vieux Pin Syrah Cuvée Classique 2024

Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesIn 2024, Cuvée Classique took a détour to Washington State, as one of the CIBC / replacement wines allowed to the winery in light of the devastating winters prior. At LVP, they looked to Washington's Wahluke Slope for their syrah. After 15 months in neutral French oak, this was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ripe, plush deep purple and blue florals / fruit swirl on the cushy, black pepper scented palate, kissed by lavender, and housed with soft tannins to a clipped finish. At 14.5%, this would need a lot more acid and structure to right it. At present, this is a friendly, softer, riper style for those looking for an easy entry to syrah.Tasted: 02 August 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
