Champagne Leclerc Briant Les Monts Ferrés Vertus 1er Cru Extra Brut 2019
Côte des Blancs, Champagne, FranceThis single vineyard blanc de blancs is from Vertus, and the first plot over after neighbouring Le Mesnil sur Oger GC. Their plot is mid-slope on chalky soils laced with iron. It was native fermented in oak over 10 months, before moving to bottle and resting 4 years sur lattes. My bottle was disgorged June 2025 with 5.5 g/L. Pouring a deeper lemon hue, the density of the nose is surprising, with burnished lemon, anise, white peach, and meringue coursing through this bullseye style of Hervé. Textured with crushed chalk, this powerful BdB has ample energy, structure, and length. Really impressive, drinking now, and with time ahead.Tasted: 09 August 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| AB | $390.00 | 750ml |
