Champagne Girard-Bonnet Mon Villages Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut NV

Côte des Blancs, Champagne, FranceChampagne Girard-Bonnet is a relatively new estate, based in the Les Mesnil sur Oger GC, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Paul Girard is a young and passionate vigneron, and connected his father, Philippe Girard’s holdings in Les Mesnil, with his mother, Dominique Bonnet’s holdings in Oger. His twelve hectares of organic / biodynamic vineyards are split primarily between those 2 GCs. This is entirely from Les Mesnil sur Oger, using old vines. It was fermented in barrel, based on 2022 with perpetual reserves from 18, 19, 21. This was disgorged March 6, 2025 with 1 g/L. Bright lemon, vanilla biscuit, smoked stone, and crunchy green apple carry through to the palate, with a riffing texture that takes this to a brief, bitter lemon finish. A bit coarse, and would welcome some creamy / fattier food to flush this out some.Tasted: 24 August 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
