Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesOpen Claim Vineyards is a boutique Oregon estate situated on a 55 acre property at the foot of Mt. Pisgah in the Willamette Valley. The vines were planted in 2012 and farmed organically on marine sedimentary soils. The gentle south facing slope protects against cooling winds, and you can see and taste it in the wine. Look for intense black cherry on the nose and wild strawberry and forest floor on the palate, with a light dusting of baking spice and earthy dried fruit. The tannins are present structurally but well polished.
