Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Storm Haven single site rieslings have emerged as the most important plots at Synchromesh's Okanagan Falls property. They are what the Europeans would likely call their Cru selections. The region doesn't strike me as Mosel-like, but many of the wines have a crunchy, fresh fruit character that makes them easy to drink. Sandy loam soils are the base at Block 2, which seem to effortlessly carry 41 grams of residual sugar, pitching ripe pear, ripe gooseberry, and litchi, balanced by an undercurrent of tangerine and subtle desert notes. This Block 2 is grown in sandy loam soils. Savoury crushed stones are topped with ripe pear, ripe gooseberry, lychee, and pithy tangerine which lingers on the zippy finish.
