Parés Baltà Materia Prima Orange 2024

Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe natural wines sector suffered from the same disease early organic wines did, namely dirty, defective wines. Also, the definition of natural wines is, well, nonexistent. Nonetheless, some well made skin contact orange wines exist, and the meticulously made Parés Baltà Materia Prima, or prime material, is one of them. Materia Prima is co-fermented naturally with xarel.lo must and skins from 40 year old vines, with 10% gewürztraminer skins, in stainless steel for 30 days. The nose is spectacular, with spicy tangerine and apricot. The colour is pale amber and slightly cloudy. It opens with citrus peel and spicy tangerine. The palate is a mix of tropical fruit, compote, and white pepper that fades into a stony, mineral, dried apricot finish. Food matching is easy, from deep fried bites to spicy sushi rolls.Tasted: 14 July 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
