Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Terrassen Federspiel 2024

Wachau, Niederösterreich, Weinland Österreich, AustriaDomäne Wachau is a true co.op success story, a not-for-profit co.op with 200 growers doing all of the work of the company, sharing their collective 2000 plots. It's the largest certified organic estate in Austria, and it's the backbone of the iconic Wachau region, managing 30% of the entire vineyard area of the Wachau. This Federspiel (one of the older classification systems and reflecting the medium level of ripeness) is from terraced vineyards across the Wachau. Fruit was fermented cool in stainless, where it remained on fine lees until bottling. Tight and sleek, with green apple, white pepper, lemon pith and peel on a shimmering palate, lingering with crushed stones and ash. Riveting energy here, and a great step up into the heights of the Wachau. Try with green veg, especially asparagus and artichoke.Tasted: 28 July 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
