Domaine des Garriguettes l'Amista Côtes du Rhône Villages Gadagne 2023
Côtes du Rhône Villages, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceDomaine des Garriguettes is a 4th generation family winery in the village of Châteauneuf de Gadagne, currently in the hands of Sébastien Clément. Their wines are Demeter certified biodynamic, and they employ regenerative farming practices across their estate. This special bush vine grenache was planted in ferrous galet soils in 1954, at 115m. It's usually their last plot to come in, harvested by hand by friends and family only, hence the cuvée name which translates as 'frendship'. This was 90% destemmed / 10% whole cluster with stems, and native fermented in cement tanks over 1 month. It continues to age 1 year in concrete before being bottled fined and unfiltered. Perfumed black raspberry, boysenberry, scrubby wild herbs flood a juicy palate, concentrated by vine age and the southern Rhône sunshine. Ample chewy, sticky tannins are lined with stony ferrous dust, adding interest and authentic texture. Atop the hill, there is an easy lofted freshness to counter the 15%, keeping this authentic wine of place in balance and food-friendly.Tasted: 15 July 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| BC | $38.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
