Domaine Aléofane Crozes Hermitage Blanc 2024

Crozes Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceDomaine Aléofane is the project of Natacha Chave, the younger sister of Yann Chave. Yann runs the famous domaine named after him, which was started by their parents in the 1970s. After studying philosophy at university, Natacha returned to her winemaking roots but instead of opting for the easier option of working with her brother, she decided to start up on her own and in 2004 purchased her first vineyard. Natacha farms her vineyards in Saint Joseph, Crozes Hermitage, and Cornas biodynamically, and this is 1 of the 4 cuvées she produces, and the only white. 50 year old Marsanne (60%) and Roussanne vines are rooted in the Haut Chassis plain of CH. The fruit was pressed and settled over 2 days before native ferment in concrete ovoid vats and demi-muids, with full MLF. Pouring a deep lemon hue, this lightly waxen wine streams marzipan, jasmine, baked quince, white peach, and apricot along the medium bodied palate, with a weight and expansiveness beyond the 12.5%. An easy stony freshness keeps this buoyed and food-friendly, drinking very smartly now and with time ahead.Tasted: 17 July 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
