Champagne Savart Les Noues Premier Cru Extra Brut 2019

Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceFrom the lieu-dit Les Noues in their home village of Equeil, this pinot noir was from the 2019 vintage. The fruit used to go into their classic l'Ouverture, but Savart found it so compelling he created this single bottling. It was fermented in oak (roughly 50% new) before heading to bottle. Mine was disgorged in September 2023 with 2 g/L. Pouring a deeper lemon hue, this smouldering, savoury champagne streaks wild cherries, red currants, walnuts, bergamot, and pear skin, braced with fine lemon pithiness, and cored with a toasted meringue. Incredibly precise and focused, this is an expressive, impressive wine of place. Drinking now and with time ahead. 2963 bottles produced.Tasted: 12 July 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
