Champagne Girard-Bonnet A Mi-Chemin Grand Cru NV
Côte des Blancs, Champagne, FranceGirard-Bonnet is a relatively new estate, based in the Les Mesnil sur-Oger GC, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Paul Girard is a young and passionate vigneron, and connected his father, Philippe Girard’s holdings in Les Mesnil, with his mother, Dominique Bonnet’s holdings in Oger. His twelve hectares of organic / biodynamic vineyards are split evenly between those 2 GCs. This BdB is based on 2022 (70%), with 30% reserves from 2021-2019, and an equal split between the two GCs' 50 year old vines. It was native fermented and aged in 60% barrel (10% new) and 40% stainless, with partial MLF. After 18 months sur lattes, this was disgorged with 1.5 g/L in November 2025, and low SO2. Baked green apple, yellow apple, white pear, lemon zest, vanilla wafer, bruised white blossoms, and ample lees is kissed with ginger spicing on a shorter finish. I feel a touch more SO2 would really help the clarity here, especially when exported. Looking forward to trying in France.Tasted: 24 July 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| ON | $110.00 | 750ml | consignment |
