Black Market Orange 2025

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Black Market Orange was a pleasant surprise, starting with the fact that it is neither faulty nor dirty, a common issue in the past with many skin contact orange wines. Gewürztraminer is the source here, fermented with indigenous yeast and macerated on skins for 12 days, leaving it duly aromatic with a mix of floral (orange blossoms and rose petals) and sweet tropical notes, like litchi and honey. The attack is full flavoured, with almost luscious notes of apricot and orange marmalade, highlighted by candied ginger and tempered by a touch of savoury dessert scrub in the finish. It's not overly sweet, but it has enough ripeness to pair with spicier dishes from Thailand, China, Morocco, Peru, and Mexico. A take out star.Tasted: 24 July 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
