Villota Selvanevada Rioja Bianco 2024

Rioja Alavesa, Rioja, SpainThe Pérez Villota family has been managing the San Rafael estate in the Alavesa region of La Rioja since the 1930s. For fifty years, they sold their grapes to CVNE (Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España). In the 1970s, they collaborated with CVNE to develop Contino, but from 2013 onward they began bottling their wines independently at Villota Winery. The '23 Rioja Blanco is made from a blend of 91% viura, 3% garnacha blanca, and 6% tempranillo blanco. The grapes are dry farmed and grown without systemic herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, or fertilizers. Its pale gold hue reveals an aromatic profile with tropical fruits, floral notes, spice, and vanilla. The viura spends six months in French oak on its lees, resulting in a creamy, textured palate with lemons, lime and hazelnuts. A modern and delightful Spanish white.Tasted: 20 June 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
