Unsworth Vineyards Gewürztraminer 2025
Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThe last time I tasted an Unsworth Gew was back in 2019, with the 2018 edition. The wine today is a very different creature, sourced from Cowichan's lauded Saison vineyard and its glacial till soils. This was whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless, where it rested 4 months on fine less prior to bottling with a Diam10 cork (confidence!). Fragrant and lively, this lighter bodied gewürztraminer dances with jasmine, ginger, perfumed blossoms, and lime peel, all taut within its sleek frame, and seasoned subtly with marine salinity.
