Tantalus Blanc de Blancs 2023
East Kelowna Slopes, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFruit from this classic BC BdB comes from a single block of 2013 estate plantings and was fermented in older puncheons for 7 months before heading to bottle for 22 months sur lattes. This bottle was disgorged in winter 2026 with a low dosage (built from 2023 Chardonnay), leaving it around 5 g/L. Pouring a deeper lemon hue, with ripe lemon, verbena, ripe green apple, and downy lees pushing this streamlined BdB over a smoked stone base. The mousse is gentle here, with some wee kisses of oxidation, and my bottle is lacking the energy of previous editions.
