Moon Curser Contraband Syrah Bartsch Vineyard 2024
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOne of the few Okanagan sites that survived to produce in 2024, this rare gem is from Osoyoos East Bench's Bartsch Vineyard, and its sandy loams. Destemmed, uncrushed fruit was fermented warm in 5000L stainless before heading to 225L French and Hungarian oak barrels (40% new) for 1 year. Big and bold, with lashings of cracked pepper seasoning wild blackberries, cherry jam, kirsch, crushed violets, and ample toasted wood, the latter lingering on the warming finish. Tannins are chewy, holding in the density of fruit within.
