Moon Curser Contraband Syrah Bartsch Vineyard 2024

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt is nice to see The Bartsch back in shape, smoke free and one of the lone survivors of the 2024 deep freeze. This generously built and flavoured syrah comes from the Bartsch Vineyard on the Osoyoos East Bench. The colour is opaque purple, and the nose is intense, with black fruit, cracked pepper, and floral violets. The palate is glossy with black cherry, blackberry, and a touch of cocoa powder. More demonstrative than reserved, the tannins are rich and fine grained, and the fruit almost sweet before a long, spicy, licorice finish. A powerful red that is currently suited to a roasted lamb dish.Tasted: 28 June 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
