In 2017, Laurent (at the age of 60) and his son Clément broke off to start a new Domaine, simply named Laurent Ponsot. He owns 7 hectares of organically / biodynamically managed vineyards, and purchases fruit from friends. This wine, Cuvée du Perce-Neige, translates as Snowdrop Flower, reflecting the wine's fresh, early drinking style. Pouring a shining lemon yellow hue, this streams wild lemon, white blossom, flax, and crushed stones along the svelte, lees-slicked palate, with driving, buzzy tension through the stony finish.
