Trentino- Alto-Adige, ItalyElena Walch is a fifth generation family estate in Alto Adige, in North East Italy. They have 90 hectares of vineyards, and are a benchmark producer of the region. This schiava comes from calcareous slopes, and it was fermented in stainless with 6 days of skin contact before aging in large neutral oak casks. Very fruit forward, with crunchy raspberry, sour cherry, bitter almond, and light stony spice supported by smoothed tannins.
