Chivite Finca Legardeta Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2024

Navarra and Basque Country, SpainChardonnay is considered a mono-variety in Spain, and it is a major component of the Chivite Legardeta range, which includes chardonnay, syrah, and grenache labels. The vines grow in one of the northernmost wine growing areas on the Iberian Peninsula, in Chivite's estate vineyards at Villatuerta, Navarra, where Atlantic and continental influences combine to produce freshness, texture, and precision. We have been tasting this wine for a couple of decades, and it has never been better than it is today. Dropping weight and oak in favour of texture and acidity has made it far more interesting. The current Legardeta 2024 Chardonnay is decidedly lighter, with pear and peach, a hint of spice, and cream and lees. The grapes are handpicked and sorted before a short maceration and a quick, gentle pressing. Once settled, the must is transferred into a mix of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels, where it ferments and remains on its lees for about five months.Tasted: 20 June 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
