Ammura Etna Rosso 2022

Etna, Sicily, ItalyAmmura is the Tommasi Family Estates' Sicily project, focused on the sacred slopes of Europe's most active volcano, Etna. This Rosso is entirely Nerello Mascalese from the northeast slopes at 650m, and from vines averaging 20 years (including 2 plots of ancient vines). The fruit was destemmed and fermented in stainless over 2 weeks before being racked back to stainless for 6 months, followed by 1 year in 20 hL oak. This medium red streams tart cherry, rosemary, fresh cedar, and tobacco along its svelte frame, with sticky, lightly green tannins, and an easy lofted acidity, finishing with subtly browning baking spices. One to enjoy now, with a slight chill, and a charcuterie board including caponata. Only 10,300 bottles produced.Tasted: 19 June 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
