Tightrope Winery Equipoise 2022
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe '22 is a blend from Naramata vineyards, comprising syrah (40%), cabernet franc (40%), and merlot (20%). The cool climate syrah leads with an intense spiciness, followed by savoury plummy, leather and elevated acidity that keeps it fresh, if a bit tart. The tannins are well managed, helping it hold together through the finish. Each grape is vinified separately before blending. The grapes are cold soaked, then fermented in small lots for 21 days on skins, and matured separately for 10 to 12 months in 50% French oak.
