Roland Lavantureux Grand Cru Chablis Vaudesir 2023

Chablis, Burgundy, FranceThe Lavantureux Vaudesir is a powerful Grand Cru Chablis. Its richness and weight are surprising given its modest 13% alcohol, but that, along with bright acidity, is what keeps it Chablisienne in the end. The amphitheatre-shaped vineyard has a south/southwest exposure. The farming is lutte raisonnée / sustainable. Fermentation takes place in a mix of tank and barrel, depending on the cuvée or lot. It spends 12–15 months in 50-80% older oak, with a small portion of freshness coming from stainless steel. Expect a dry, medium to full bodied Chardonnay with bright natural acidity that balances out what was a warm year. Look for ripe lemon and peach, rich, exotic apricot and vanilla, with a mineral, oyster shell, saline finish.Tasted: 02 May 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
