Maule, Valle del Claro, Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileFrom purchased fruit in Maule, this VIGNO is from dry farmed field blend carignan (85%) followed by malbec, cinsault, cabernet sauvignon, and carménère, planted 1955 on granite soils. It was native fermented in stainless, followed by 20 months of aging in neutral oak barrels and large foudre. Dense boldo, forest floor floods the fuller, denser, black fruited palate, with well-integrated sinewy tannins, and a flush of stony minerality.
