Bottega Pinot Noir 2023

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2024 Bottega pinot comes from Summerland, one of a few local labels to make it to market after the deep winter freeze. The nose is classic New World Pinot, with dark cherries, earthy forest floor, and a fair bit of spice on the finish. The attack is medium-rich, with juicy, stemmy cherry, more spice, and some sticky tannins. It is understandably youthful and will need some time to settle down and find its core. It is made in the traditional pinot manner, hand picked and hand plunged. After an extended maceration, it is fermented and basket pressed, then aged for 8 months in 60% second fill French oak barrels with bimonthly bâtonnage, and bottled unfined and lightly filtered.Tasted: 17 May 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
