Bottega Merlot 2023
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaDaniel Bontorin's Merlot program has long delivered rich, hedonistic, organically farmed Naramata fruit, and the 2023 is well in line with that. There is a fragrant black-fruit and licorice nose that spills onto the palate, where juicy red and black-fruit flavours carry the day. The finish is soft and round, with a mineral undercurrent and a touch of oak for body on the top side. Fun to drink now, but this will improve through 2028-29.
