Chablis, Burgundy, FranceThe Vau de Vey 1er Cru offers a tighter, leaner profile compared to the Vauprin, but in 2023, a warmer year, it also displays a touch of charm. The vineyard is planted on Kimmeridgian limestone rich in fossils, which imparts tension, minerality, and cool citrus. Notes of lemon zest and green apples are complemented by oyster shell and chalk dust. Extensive lees aging at Lavantureux helps keep the '23 balanced, even amid the warmer growing conditions.
