Blue Grouse Chardonnay 2024

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaAnother look at this wine confirms earlier tastings. Bright, fresh and distinctly coastal, this Cowichan Valley chardonnay blends green apple and lemon with slate and stony mineral, subtle toasted oak, and a fine leesy texture. Careful winemaking: fermentation in French barrels and puncheons, with only 13% new oak, leaves the delicate fruit intact, while full malolactic fermentation reduces acidity and adds a creamy texture. In the end, salinity runs through the juicy, lean palate, finishing clean and refreshing. A natural with seafood or sushi, and a rare example of an island wine.Tasted: 21 September 2026Tasted by: Prices:
