Bachelder Wismer-Wingfield Gamay 20% Whole Cluster 2024
Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaA new terroir for Bachelder and a first release from eight year old vines. We like the 20% whole cluster ratio; it is definitely the best balanced stem characteristic, and at an attractive 12% alcohol. One of the better noses, tied with Bai Xu among the group, pitching bright, sappy, wild red and blue fruits. It is also the most mineral and rocky in the lineup. The palate is less expressive, lacking the same concentration. The wine is dry with some tannins to shed. Take it to the cellar for now.
