Bachelder Willms Gamay Noir 55% Whole Cluster 2024
Four Mile Creek, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThe Willms comes in at 55% whole cluster from vines planted in 1983. At 12.5%, it is perfectly balanced. On the nose, it is more Cru-like, with fresh, expressive, juicy red cherry and raspberry, and spicy whole cluster character. There is a rocky, gravelly quality to this wine, and it has one of the best Gamay textures in the lineup. There is fine fruit density and a slick demeanour to balance the tannin. Pretty and complex, this will improve with time in the bottle.
