Bachelder Les Villages Gamay Noir 2024

Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaLes Villages is a blend of several Gamay parcels from across the Niagara Peninsula appellation, and according to Bachelder, “Combines the best Niagara-on-the-Lake vibe: older vines, with typically deeper colours, and possessing a lovely juiciness, with the Western Niagara-honed fruity, savoury tension and distinct mineral salinity.” All we know is that the eight vineyard Crus was the easiest to drink, from its deep ruby / cherry colour to its enticing Beaujolais-like nose of ripe and sour red fruits. The palate is a delight to sip. It’s the lightest of the bunch, but in a good way, with soft, gentle red fruit. Juicy, stony, and laced with minerality, this is a crushable introduction to Niagara Gamay. Serve slightly chilled.Tasted: 17 April 2026Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss and Anthony GismondiPrices:
