Bachelder Haynes Street Gamay Noir 22% Whole Cluster 2024

Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaHaynes Street is a new vineyard for Bachelder. It is owned by Joe Schenck and his family, and sits below the Bench in Jordan. Fermented with 22% whole clusters from young vines, the Haynes Gamay is fragrant on the nose but darker-fruited than the Bai Xu, with flavours more reminiscent of Bing cherries. There is good fruit ripeness and depth, too, with an earthy underside. Overall, there is a glossy texture, perhaps a result of the satisfying glycerous fruit ripeness. A solid stepping stone for Pinot drinkers into Gamay. The vines are young, but its juicy richness and mineral streak more than make up for it.Tasted: 17 April 2026Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss and Anthony GismondiPrices:
