Sunnybrae Bastion Mountain Red 2024
Shuswap, British Columbia, CanadaMarechal Foch isn't my favourite, but this Shuswap label truly impressed me. Like the 2021 vintage, this wine shows distinct character. It has an opaque purple colour, and the nose offers an inviting chocolate aroma with almost no wild dog notes. On the palate, it presents a blend of fresh blue fruit, smooth tannins, and subtle American oak in the background. Its high acidity helps balance everything. The fruit comes from their sustainably certified estate and nearby Tappen Creek Vineyard. The finish features American oak.
