Pierre Gaillard Domaine Cottebrune Le Cairn Blanc 2021
Faugères, Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThis blend of equal parts Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, and Roussanne comes from 15 year old vines rooted in the brown schist soils of Cabrerolles, between 220 - 280m. It was fermented cool in older barrel, with partial MLF, and regular bâtonnage, where it rested 8 months prior to bottling. The oily and waxen palate streams honeycomb, jasmine, white peach over a lanolin lees bed. A fresh river stone acidity leads this to a lingering buzzy mandarin pith finish.
