Colbún, Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe '23 Cenizas de Laberinto Mezcla Tinta is a 50/29/21 blend of merlot, cabernet franc, and cabernet sauvignon, fermented in concrete and aged for 12 months in 400 litre barrels. The fruit is sourced from a single estate vineyard planted in 1993 in rich volcanic ash and granite soils in Maule Valley's Colbún DO. The merlot is the dominant component, adding richness and softness to the mid-palate, opening with black fruits, followed by exotic notes of tar, olives, and a twist of five spice that lifts the acidity and refreshes the finish.
