Laberinto Arcillas Pais 2023

Colbún, Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileDubbed Laberinto for the labyrinth-inspired row plantings in his 23 hectares under vine, Rafael Tirado established the winery in 1993 in the easternmost corner of Maule, in Colbún, nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. This charming País comes off a single site of 30 year old vines planted by Rafa in 1995, rooted in granite soils around 600m. It was native fermented with 18 days maceration (30% stems) before aging 10 months in clay amphora and concrete. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Juicy strawberry, wild raspberry flood the medium palate, with fine, sapid tannins, and shining white grapefruit acidity streaming this charming red through a lingering saline and white pepper finish. Energy abounds in this charismatic red, drinking now with wild mushroom or salmon centric dishes.Tasted: 13 February 2026Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
