Hickinbotham Clarendon Vineyard Trueman Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaAustralian Charlie Seppelt and American Chris Carpenter are the guys behind the Hickinbotham revival, putting this Clarendon cabernet front and centre. The wine is defined by its texture and sweet, dense tannins that run throughout, framing the wine's structure perfectly. Pure black fruit and cassis with hints of tobacco, menthol, and dark chocolate create a fragrant style that is hard not to drink quickly. As before, the richness and density recall the Right Bank of Bordeaux, while the drinkability and savoury aspects recall Tuscany. The fruit is hand picked from Clarendon's high country at 220 metres, where it gains weight and flavour in the warm mornings and maintains freshness and acidity through cool nights. First planted in 1971 by Alan Hickinbotham, it remains well cared for today under the Jackson Family Wines banner.Tasted: 13 February 2026Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
